Tuesday’s Tips: A Valentine’s Box for God

A Valentine’s Box for God
Like many of you, our family has been creating Valentine’s boxes for years–transforming our resident shoe boxes into celebratory sensations with paint and stickers, glitter glue and fun foam, and good old-fashioned doilies.
We usually set out our boxes early in the month and try to fill every one with special trinkets and love notes right up until our family’s official celebration of love on February 14.
However, this year Hannah suggested that we make a box for SOMEONE who’s been left out of our box fun all of these years: God!
I loved the idea and immediately set my middle child to work on designing a love box for our treasured Guest. Hannah splatter painted a box and cut a slit in the top so we could easily deliver our mail to God.
We set God’s Valentine’s box right next to the kitchen table with a basket of colorful paper hearts and pens near by. Then we invited the whole family to drop God love notes for the next seven days. At meal times, we simply write or draw our prayers and in between we jot down praises to stuff our Heavenly Father’s box. I can think of no better way to prepare for a holiday of love than to fix our mind on the author of Love. How about you, friends?
