Glory Glimpses
Gold is slowly replacing the green beyond my window. Soon we’ll trade a sultry hallelujah for harvest’s quiet hope. But for now, I’m savoring the subtle glimpses of glory that ride on the coattails of summer.
Glory Glimpses
Doubters say You are not real,
Just mere imagination.
But your fingerprints of glory
Are smudged across creation.
Mockers claim You are a fraud,
A ghost within my mind.
Still I believe Your Word is true,
If seekers seek they’ll find.
So I search for Your reflection
In the grand and the mundane.
With each glimpse my weak faith grows,
My doubts begin to wane.
I see You in the setting sun,
Brushed golden by your hand.
I see You in the ocean waves
That crash against the sand.
I see You in the mountain peaks,
Silhouettes across the sky.
I see You in the face
Of every child I pass by.
I see You in the season’s change.
Green grows from winter’s loss.
I see You in a soul transformed.
Sins covered by the cross.
I see You in the trees of fall
As summer leaves turn gold.
I see You in surrendered hearts.
New life replaces old.
The world is laced with majesty.
Your signature revealed
In every creature great and small,
Each rock and stream and field.
Let mockers laugh and wonder.
Let doubters carry on.
My eyes have glimpsed the glory
Of the only El Elyon.
I stand in awe of your talents! This poem is beautiful!
