All I Imagined

|
Sixteen and a half years ago today, I vowed to love and to cherish my man forever.  When we planned an August 14 wedding we didn’t realize that our “half anniversary” would land each year on Valentine’s Day.  What fun to have a “double celebration” on a day already marked for love.   Years ago, I wrote this little poem for Rob on Valentine’s Day but the words still ring true.  I thank the Lord that the man who holds my heart has been MORE than I could have ever imagined a husband could be.  I am blessed, indeed.

All I Imagined

I can’t imagine this life without you.

I don’t know who I’d be or what I would do.

I can’t picture me here in this place

Without the assurance of your sweet embrace.

I can’t imagine this life without you.

I can’t imagine a love that lasts longer.

With each new day, our love grows stronger.

I can’t fathom how empty my heart would be

If the wife you had chosen had not been me.

I can’t imagine a love that lasts longer.

I can’t imagine a woman more blessed.

When God gave me you, He gave me the best.

I can’t envision a future that’s brighter

With you as my love and God our provider.

I can’t imagine a woman more blessed.

You’re all I imagined when I dreamed of this life

You’re all that I prayed I’d receive as a wife.

You’re true love in action and pure faith in shoes.

You’re the man that I treasure, the one that I choose.

I can’t imagine my life without you.
