The Mom Initiative: Happy Mother’s Day from the Throne!
So, that day that celebrates moms like us is just around the corner, and if your house is anything like mine, maybe you’ve been asked this question a time or two over the past few days–
“Mom, what do you want for Mother’s Day?”
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always felt like that’s a loaded question.
Because there have been years when all I really wanted was just a day without those sweet ones who made me a mama.
Or maybe just a few hours of peace and quiet.
Or the rare chance to go to the bathroom alone.
And for better or worse, that’s the gift I asked for on a Mother’s Day not long ago.
Of course, I didn’t know that while I hid behind the bathroom door, God would use my simple request to open my eyes to one of the hidden gifts of motherhood.
And it’s a gift that keeps on giving long after those Mother’s Day flowers turn brown and die.
It’s a gift you can unwrap every day if you choose.
