Last Minute Idea for Father’s Day
This year, instead of making homemade cards for Father’s Day, I encouraged my kids to write their Dad a letter. I suggested that far more special than the bottle of cologne we wrapped up this morning would be their words of gratitude.
To simplify the endeavor, I printed out this cute form letter. All the kids had to do was fill in the blank! Their “fill-ins” were as diverse as their personalities, a precious window into their unique souls. Without a doubt, the letters were the real gift of the day.
I am so glad that God made you my dad.
Of all the dads in the world, I think you’re best for me because…
I love it when we do things together. My favorite thing to do with you is…
I think you are really good at…
What I admire about you is….
The one thing I want you to know on this special day is….
Love,
If you need to add a few ‘apples of gold’ to your celebration today, feel free to copy this little letter and invite your children to give the gift of a well-timed word.
